TMJ is the abbreviation for “Temporomandibular Joint Disorder,” and it is sometimes referred to as TMD, TMJ disorder, or TMJ syndrome. Regardless of the what it is called, each is referring to the same condition, which is pain and dysfunction related to the muscles and joints of the jaw bone.
